Whenever my children (3) confronted me about being bored, I had a simple answer...."Only boring people are ever board". In a world with so much - household or backyard materials to create, so many books, so many volunteer organizations, so many community sports, so many ways to develop leadership and INITIATE a group activity - it is scandalous that so many parents just plunk kids in front of the latest video game! I am convinced that in a world without boredom the greatest artists, scientists, and many more innovators would have never known their potential and we would all have suffered that loss.
